Charlotte Magazine Top Doctors

The Charlotte Magazine is one of the most well-respected, periodic publications in North Carolina. In addition to their information on food, news, sports and attractions, the magazine also releases an annual list on the top doctors in the greater Charlotte area. This list is based on a survey conducted by their peers using a third-party software and research company, ensuring that the results are unbiased. 

The results from the database of top doctors in Charlotte in 2019 and this year, 2020, contained several of the highly acclaimed doctors from the SERO Group, reflecting the pride that the community takes in the exceptional radiation oncology care that the group provides. Here are the SERO doctors that were nominated for the 2020 Top Doctors honor.

Dr. Stuart H. Burri

Stuart H Burri, MD began his education at Wake Forest University and completed his medical education at Emory University School of Medicine in 2000, where he served as Chief Resident. He has served as a past chairman for the Brain Tumor Fund for the Carolinas and has been a doctor at SERO Group for 20 years. His passion is cutting-edge, precision radiation therapy that helps cancer patients fight a disease that traditional treatments may not have been able to help. Learn more about Dr. Burri here.

Dr. William Bobo

William E. Bobo, MD completed his undergraduate education at Auburn University prior to attending medical school at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Bobo stayed in Atlanta and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Emory University, then moved to North Carolina and joined SERO in 2002. During his time at SERO, Dr. Bobo was elected the Medical Director of Radiation Therapy at Rock Hill Radiation Therapy Center in 2006 and Levine Cancer Institute in Pineville in 2009. Dr. Carolina Fasola

Carolina Elizabeth Fasola, MD completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College in New York prior to completing medical school at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. During her time there, she also earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Global Health from Rollins School of Public Health. After this, Dr. Fasola went to the West Coast and completed her residency in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University. There, she was also named Chief Resident. After her time out West, she returned east and joined SERO, serving patients at Levine Cancer Institute Main. Learn more about Dr. Fasola here!

Dr. Scott McGinnis

L. Scott McGinnis, MD completed his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a B.A. in English/French. After this, he completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. He went on to complete his Residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Since joining SERO, Dr. McGinnis has also served on the American College of Radiology Guidelines and Standards as a member of the Committee on Radiation for two years. Dr. Roshan Prabhu

Roshan S. Prabhu, MD comes to Charlotte by way of Florida. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Florida and stayed at the school to complete his medical school education at their College of Medicine. During his residency at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Dr. Prabhu earned his Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) and was elected Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology. He came to Charlotte and joined SERO, serving the citizens of Charlotte at the Levine Cancer Institute Main. Learn more about Dr. Prabhu here!

Dr. Hadley Sharp

Hadley J. Sharp, MD came to Charlotte through Nebraska. She completed her undergraduate work at Creighton University and remained in Nebraska for medical school, earning her medical degree from the University of Nebraska. During her education, Dr. Sharp volunteered her time to clinics for non-documented Americans and spent one of her spring breaks supplying basic healthcare to children in Nicaragua. After finishing her residency at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Sharp moved to Charlotte and joined SERO, practicing at Levine Cancer Institute, University City. Dr. William Warlick

William B. Warlick, Jr., MD is a North Carolina native who completed his undergraduate education at Davidson College. He relocated down South to pursue his medical education at the Medical College of Georgia before moving west for a residency in Utah. During his time with the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Utah Hospital, he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Warlick then returned to Charlotte, joining SERO and serving patients at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital. Learn more about Dr. Warlick here!
