About Us

The Morehead Radiation Therapy Center offers a full range of oncology and hematology services including diagnosis, treatment, patient education, and support services. Certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Community Hospital Cancer Program, all cancer services are currently located on the Levine Cancer Institute campus.

SERO’s Radiation Oncology services include:

• A linear accelerator with photon and electron capabilities emotional well-being
• Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy and computerized treatment planning
• Ultrasound with guided transperineal prostate seed implants
• In-house intracavitary cesium brachytherapy implants for GYN cases
• Patient/family education
• Through our affiliation with Southeast Radiation Oncology Group and Carolinas Medical Center’s Blumenthal Cancer Center we have access to high dose rate brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning for staging of patients with cancer.

Directions

From I-77 — Take the John Belk Freeway (I-277) exit 9B and follow the “Trauma Center” signs to Kenilworth Avenue. Follow Kenilworth Avenue to East Morehead Street and turn left. Drive to Harding Place and turn right. Turn right into Morehead Medical Plaza.

From Uptown — Drive south on Stonewall Avenue until it turns into Kenilworth Avenue. Proceed to East Morehead Street and turn left. Continue to Harding Place and turn right. Turn right into Morehead Medical Plaza.

From I-85 — Take I-77 South to the John Belk Freeway (I-277) exit 9B. Follow the “Trauma Center” signs to Kenilworth Avenue. Continue on Kenilworth Avenue to East Morehead Street and turn left. Drive to Harding Place and turn right. Turn right into Morehead Medical Plaza.

From Providence Road — Drive toward Uptown Charlotte and continue on the same street when it becomes Queens Road. Queens Road becomes East Morehead Street. Drive to Harding Place and turn left. Turn right into Morehead Medical Plaza.
