SERO Physician Kevin Roof, MD joined hundreds of others in the bid to fight cancer by participating in the March 9, 2016 All In to Fight Cancer Texas Hold ‘Em Poker tournament at the Filmore in Charlotte. All In to Fight Cancer is non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and money to help find a cure for cancer. Drs. Kevin Roof and Shawn Quillan of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates joined Mike Riley President of Novant Health Huntersville, and Roland Bibeau President of Novant Health Matthews as well as Jason Bernd Vice President Novant Health Orthopedic Hospital (and winner of the 2015 Tournament) for an evening of poker and fun to raise money for local cancer organizations including:

  • The Isabella Santos Foundation, and organization created in honor of Isabella who battled Neuroblastoma for five years. The event took place on what would have been Isabella’s 11th birthday. This organization helps raise awareness and provide funding for Neuroblastoma Research and other children’s charities (www.IsabellaSantosFoundation.com)
  • GoJenGo, a non-profit dedicated to providing financial and emotional support to patients (and their families) battling breast cancer (www.GoJenGo.org)
  • The Novant Health Cancer Navigator Program who help guide patient’s through the many challenges and obstacles a cancer diagnosis often presents (www.NovantHealth.org/Cancer)
  • 24 Hours of Booty which integrates cycling and cancer fundraising in an effort to raise funds for local and national cancer organizations (www.24HoursofBooty.org).
